No, we serve families in the entire Washington County area.
Please fill out our simple online intake form. At this time, we do NOT require proof of income. We want to help families on the edge and make it less intimidating to get temporary help. We trust you to be respectful of others in your community who also need help at this time. The family member who fills out the intake form must be 18 or older. You can only submit one intake form per household. (Please bring your ID. We may ask to see it for verification.)
After submitting the intake form, you can come by during current pick-up hours. Currently, you do not need an appointment.

At this time, you can come every week if needed. But you must submit an online intake form every time you come. Your weekly pickups do NOT have to be exactly 7 days apart, but you can only come ONE TIME within a Monday - Friday timeframe.

We will allow you to choose what your family will use. But please limit yourself to what your family will use within one week. Some items are limited to one per family, and non-food items are distributed according to a point system. Our purpose is to help families get through the week. Stocking your cupboards for several months is NOT our intention because it takes current resources away from other struggling families. You can come again each week if needed.
At this time, we can only give one package of diapers per family per week, regardless of the number of children in your household. The child you are getting diapers for must live in your household. Thank you for respecting our policies, which allow us to continue serving as many families as possible! (We reserve the right to refuse service to families who do not respect our policies.)
If you have boxes or reusable shopping bags, we appreciate when you bring them. We usually have some disposable shopping bags on hand. (We will no longer provide empty boxes but will be getting a few shopping carts.)
We will ask your name to look up your intake form and may ask to see your identification for verification.

We get most of our food from Utah Food Bank. They distribute food to all of the food pantries in St. George. Most of the food we receive has a sell-by date well into the future. However, we do receive some food with a past date. Stores and individuals often donate food that is still perfectly good but near or past the manufacturer's sell-by date. This is part of Feeding America's Food Rescue initiative. Each year in the United States, we waste 119 billion pounds of quality food while 34 million of our citizens face hunger.
So how long does food retain its quality after passing the expiration date? It is dependent on the type of food. While fresh milk will be good for only 5-7 days past the expiration date, non-acidic canned foods are fine for up to 5 years. For information about acceptable food donations as well as how long various foods are safe for consumption, please check Utah Food Bank's Donation and General Consumption Guidelines. For further information, here are the USDA's guidelines for food product dating.
Yes! We allow you to come in and choose the items that best fit your family's needs. We will allow you to choose what your family will use. No, we do NOT require income verification. Our goal is to help families on the edge. But we may ask you what income bracket your household falls into for statistical reasons. The family member who fills out the intake form must be 18 or older. You can only submit one intake form per household.
However, once our new software is in place, we will require household verification. This will include your address and who lives in the household.

In most cases, you must be at least 18 years old to fill out an intake form and pick up food and supplies for your family. Each household should only submit one intake form in a week.
If you are under 18 and have special circumstances, such as homelessness or emancipation, please call 435-319-8404 and make an appointment to discuss your situation.
The short answer is "no."
There are some staples that we have most of the time, such as canned corn and green beans. And sometimes we receive multiple cases of an item that will last us several weeks. But we receive trucks every weekday and never know what we will receive!
Currently, we buy most of the non-food items ourselves on a weekly basis. The things we buy vary some based on the needs we are seeing. Those items go fast! So sometimes we will be fully stocked with diapers, cleaning supplies, toiletries, and paper supplies. And, sometimes, those shelves will be sparse. We are working on systems to ensure more people with real needs have the opportunity to receive these items.
We are not like a store that maintains a consistent stock of all types of foods and household supplies. We rely on Utah Food Bank for most of our food. They receive donations from stores and private individuals to distribute to local food pantries. When we receive a truck, it's like Christmas, we never know what we will receive.
Currently, we buy most of the non-food items ourselves. We have a weekly budget and work to provide as much as we can each week. As we get outside funders and develop relationships with manufacturers, our supply will increase.
We are also working on developing common-sense policies and procedures to ensure more people receive the items they need most while continuing to keep our program simple and accessible.
There are multiple ways to give back! If we made a difference for your family, you could simply submit a testimonial. It not only helps us with fundraising to support our operations but encourages others to seek help. It takes less than five minutes, and you can stay anonymous.
You can also donate food and essential supplies. We especially need non-food items such as diapers, wipes, toilet paper, toiletries, and cleaning supplies. Most items should be sealed in the original packaging, though we will take diapers that are still stacked nicely to repack in ziplock bags.
As we grow, we will also need volunteers! Let us know if you are interested in volunteering.
We can also take financial donations on our donation page.
And if you are involved in an organization or business, look into sponsoring or partnering with us. Let's work together to help our community!
We are partnered with Utah Food Bank. They supply food to all of the food pantries in our area. We always encourage supporting Utah Food Bank with your food donations.
If you would rather donate directly to us, we also welcome food donations at our location.
We follow the same guidelines as Utah Food Bank for accepting food donations. You can find those guidelines here. If you have food that fits those guidelines, please bring it by Monday-Thursday from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM or Friday from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM. If these times don't work for you, contact us at nowbreathcare@gmail.com or 435-319-8404 to set up another time. Please always give donations directly to an employee. Thank you for thinking of us!
At this time, we do NOT accept clothing donations.
This may change in the future! Clothing requires a lot of labor and space for sorting and display. We don't currently have the necessary resources but may develop programs down the road that will create a need for specific types of clothing. Stay tuned...
Yes! We eagerly accept donations of unused non-food household supplies, such as cleaning supplies, toiletries, paper towels, toilet paper, wipes, garbage bags, and diapers. There is a great need for these items, and we have a hard time keeping them stocked.
Most items should be sealed in the original packaging, but we will take diapers that are still stacked nicely and packed in ziplock bags.
If you have items to dontate, contact us at nowbreathcare@gmail.com or 435-319-8404. Thank you for thinking of us!
We own several childcare locations in the St. George area. From day one, we have worked with families to make quality care affordable and accommodate challenging schedules. We also have special programs such as free transportation. In fact, seeing the needs of our childcare families started us on the journey to open the BREATHE Care Resource Center.
The easiest way to find out how we can help with your specific childcare needs is to submit an application at https://brightmorningstarcare.com/. After receiving your application, we will contact you to discuss ways we can help. We currently have a waiting list.
We are a nonprofit organization. Tax ID 84-3616533
